Gold IRA Due Diligence Checklist

Due diligence

Questions to Ask Before You Work with a Gold Company

Good due diligence is specific, unhurried, and documented. This checklist is not a recommendation of any provider; it is a way to prepare for a more informed conversation.

Ask for clear written information

  • Which products are being discussed, and why are they being suggested?
  • How are the products priced, including spreads, account costs, storage, delivery, and other potential charges?
  • What written policies apply to storage, account administration, selling, and buybacks?
  • Who are the custodian and storage providers, and what roles do they have?
  • What support is offered during a rollover or transfer, and what questions must your plan administrator answer?

Watch for pressure

A reputable research process should give you time to read documents, compare answers, and ask follow-up questions. Be cautious about urgency, guarantees, requests for sensitive details through unsecured channels, or advice to move all of your savings.

Use multiple sources

Review official retirement-account guidance, independent records, and the written materials provided by a company. Consider discussing material tax, legal, or investment questions with qualified advisers who understand your situation.
